The familiar strains of “Figaro! Figaro! Figaro!” are no stranger, even to those who avoid opera. (Thanks to cartoons, of course! Woody Woodpecker, a few Warner Bros. toons, and even Tom and Jerry.)
But my favorite piece by Gioachino Rossini is the William Tell Overture.
